Here at Smoke Alarms Sunshine Coast & Country, our focus is on helping
you decide what products are best for your needs, how & where to install
them, and what accessories will be required. You may be able to do an upgrade
of your smoke alarm system yourself – however, there are some things to keep in mind.

Any pre-existing hard-wired alarms must be replaced with hard-wired alarms
by a licensed electrician; depending on your location, we may be able to refer
you to someone who can assist. Wireless alarms, such as the Hybrid and/or Ranger
model alarms, can be interconnected with hard-wired Hybrid and/or Vulcan model
alarms by installing an RF Module into the hard-wired alarms.

We strongly recommend connecting a wall controller accessory to your system,
as it is an amazingly helpful device that assists in silencing and identifying
problem alarms. The wall controller requires direct RF communication with each
device in the system; an RF model must be installed in all Hybrid and Vulcan
models (the module is in-built for 10-year Ranger models), and any wired
interconnection between hard-wired alarms must be removed, otherwise several
features of the wall controller will not function properly.
